To all that have contributed to the New Mexico Consumer Guide to Managed Care and to consumers that have relied on this guide for informed decision making regarding your health plans:
Historically, the New Mexico Health Policy Commission (HPC) has required that, by August 1st of each year, health plans submit HEDIS data pursuant to 7.1.21 NMAC and CAHPS survey results pursuant to 7.1.22 NMAC. From this data and information, the HPC has produced the New Mexico Consumer Guide to Managed Care. The data and information in this guide has been provided to assist consumers in evaluating the quality of care and performance of health care providers and organizations in the state.
Unfortunately, as a result of limited staff due to budget constraints, the HPC did not collect and report on HEDIS and CAHPS data in 2010. However, these data are still available thanks to Blue Cross Blue Shield of NM-HMO, Lovelace Health Plan, Presbyterian Health Plan, and UnitedHealthcare who have provided their HEDIS and CAHPS data directly to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
We are including links to the NCQA and the AHRQ here so that consumers may continue to access
HEDIS and CAHPS data if they are interested. In the future the HPC may again publish our New Mexico Consumer Guide to Managed Care.
